Kirker Greer Spirits expands premium agave footprint as artisanal Oaxacan expression joins M&S ‘discovery’ range
Kirker Greer Spirits has announced the nationwide launch of its artisanal Del Suelo Espadín Mezcal in Marks & Spencer stores, marking a key milestone for the fast-growing mezcal brand. Del Suelo Espadín Mezcal launched in 231 M&S stores across the UK at the end of April, with an RRP of £45 and bottled at 45% ABV.
Crafted in San Luis del Río, Oaxaca, Del Suelo Espadín Mezcal reflects the unique character of its origin. Mineral-rich soils and a distinctive microclimate shape the agave, resulting in a premium spirit layered with mineral complexity, citrus brightness, orchard fruit and warming spice. This offers a compelling point of difference from both tequila and entry-level mezcal expressions.
The listing reflects M&S’ continued focus on discovery-led drinks, giving customers access to a mezcal that combines authenticity, provenance and a refined flavour profile. Designed with the consumer in mind, Del Suelo champions clear storytelling and accessible education at shelf, with each expression celebrating a single agave variety from Oaxaca. A visual tasting language and distinctive Mexican artwork further enhance its standout appeal, helping to demystify mezcal and drive shopper engagement in a growing category.
Del Suelo also aligns with M&S’ values around sustainability and responsible sourcing. Production follows time-honoured, low-intervention methods, from hand-harvested agave to natural fermentation using wild yeasts and traditional pit roasting. Sustainable farming practices, fair pay across the supply chain, and culturally inspired packaging further underline the brand’s commitment to quality and ethical sourcing.
Giota Polyzoudi, Senior Spirits Buyer at Marks & Spencer, commented:
“Del Suelo is a brand with genuine credentials, combining provenance, quality and a compelling story that resonates strongly at shelf and builds consumer trust. It aligns seamlessly with our purpose to bring the ‘magic of M&S’ to every customer through exceptional quality, value, service and innovation.
Visiting Oaxaca and experiencing the home of Del Suelo first-hand was incredibly impactful for our team. Seeing the time-honoured, low-intervention production methods up close brought the brand to life in a way that few spirits can, reinforcing both its authenticity and the care behind every bottle.”
Richard Ryan, Co-founder of Drinksology Kirker Greer, added:
“Securing this listing with M&S marks an exciting milestone for Del Suelo and for Kirker Greer Spirits. It further strengthens our relationship with M&S, a partner that shares our commitment to quality, provenance and storytelling. Being stocked in M&S gives us the perfect platform to introduce UK consumers to mezcal and make the category more accessible. Del Suelo Espadín uses its visual tasting language to capture the flavour profile of the agave, illustrating the complex balance of aromas and tastes and helping consumers explore mezcal with confidence and curiosity.”

About Del Suelo (Meaning ‘Of the Earth’)
Del Suelo’s range of four rich, complex and distinctive artisanal mezcal expressions are crafted at a palenque (distillery) in the village of San Luis del Río, a sun-kissed valley in the rugged and remote mountains of the State of Oaxaca in Mexico, the spiritual home of mezcal.
Del Suelo’s ethically-sourced artisanal mezcals capture the nuanced flavours of a diverse range of agaves, enhanced by distinctive terroir influences imparted by the soil, climate, and other conditions unique to where they grow. Each of the four expressions - Espadín, Liso, Tobalá and Madrecuishe - celebrate a single variety of agave from Oaxaca.
Del Suelo co-founders Alí Rogelio Ramírez, Richard Ryan, CEO of Drinksology Kirker Greer, and world-leading bar operators Gregory Buda, renowned for his work at The Dead Rabbit in New York, and Kevin Demers, founder of Montréal’s Northern Hospitality Group, journeyed to the remote Sierra Madre mountains to explore the rare mezcal expressions that inspired Del Suelo’s artisanal range.
Del Suelo’s range is bottled in sustainable ‘wild glass’, made from 100% post-consumer recycled material that reduces waste by up to 35% during manufacturing. The unique label artwork features authentic Mexican illustrations created by Oaxaca City artist Walter García Hernández. Each includes a series of vibrantly striking native animals bearing a significance to the nature and culture of the state of Oaxaca, while also representing a narrative of Mexico’s folklore and the area’s intrinsic connection with mezcal production.
