BORN IRISH WHISKEY INTRODUCES ‘BORN IRISH TOPS’ SERVE STRATEGY

Sociable serve designed to broaden whiskey’s appeal and recruit a new generation of drinkers.

Born Irish Whiskey from Kirker Greer Spirits is introducing a bold new serve strategy, ‘Born Irish Tops’, designed to bring a fresh, easy-to-drink approach to Irish whiskey while attracting a wider audience into the category.

The serve combines 50ml Born Irish Whiskey, 150ml premium cola and a distinctive stout top, creating a smooth, refreshing highball with a subtle creamy finish. Served over ice in a tulip or half-pint glass, the stout-topped pour forms a creamy head reminiscent of a mini-stout while drinking like a whiskey-cola float. Familiar yet slightly elevated, the serve is approachable for regular beer drinkers and first-time whiskey consumers alike - making whiskey an easy choice for a broader range of drinking occasions.

While Irish whiskey continues to enjoy strong global growth, Born Irish believes there is still significant opportunity to recruit consumers who may find traditional whiskey serves intimidating or too spirit-forward.

“Born Irish has always been about breaking convention and making Irish whiskey feel more inclusive and contemporary,” says Richard Ryan, Co-founder of Drinksology Kirker Greer. “Born Irish Tops takes the character of the whiskey and places it in a serve that is instantly recognisable, sociable, and easy to pour. It’s fast to train bartenders on, uncomplicated in busy venues, and feels familiar yet slightly elevated. Perfect for drawing in beer drinkers and new whiskey fans.”

The launch also reflects wider shifts in consumer behaviour within the on-trade. Stout has seen renewed momentum in the UK, attracting a younger and more diverse audience and gaining a more contemporary image.

At the same time, drinkers, particularly younger adults, are showing a growing appetite for visually distinctive drinks and reinvented serves that offer something new while remaining easy to order.

Born Irish Tops taps into both trends, delivering a serve that looks like a miniature stout but drinks like a refreshing whiskey highball, creating a distinctive talking point at the bar while remaining simple and familiar.

The strategy will roll out across selected bars and wholesalers in the UK and Ireland, supported by serve kits, and in-venue POS, alongside social media and influencer activations designed to encourage trial.

With its bold flavour combination and straightforward build, Born Irish Tops reflects the brand’s modern, irreverent spirit while reinforcing Born Irish Whiskey’s position as a contemporary take on the category.
